Welcome to the Sandiacre Taekwondo page! Classes are held at Freisland Lesiure Centre which is located just off junction 25 of the M1. Free parking is available next to the centre and public transport links are available also.
Students can train on Thursday evenings between 6pm and 7pm and also on Saturday mornings between 10am and 12pm.
Facilities at Sandiacre Taekwondo School
We train in a large, well lit, hall with a wooden floor well suited to taekwondo. There is seating for parents and those who wish to watch.
The venue is open all year round including school holidays. If you are unable to attend a class due to a closure you are welcome to train at one of the other schools free of charge that week.
We have a wide range of ages and grades at Sandiacre which makes the class ideal for students at all levels.
Individuals and family groups train in Sandiacre and are equally welcome.
Note that you don’t have to be fit or have any kind of martial arts experience to start training, we expect to teach you! We don’t have an upper age limit and plenty of people pick up taekwondo in their later life.
For the younger children, we ask that they are able to follow commands and keep their attention for an hour. Typically this is 7+ years old but as young as 5 have signed up.
History of the Club
Sandiacre is a long established club and has been around for 20 years now.
From 2017 James Seaman took over as the main instructor for Sandiacre.
If you would like to visit us, simply come along and watch a class. You do not need to book in advance, just show up and see what you think.
If you enjoyed watching a class then you can come back for another lesson where you have a go. Wear tracksuit bottoms/t-shirt or similar loose fitting clothes and join in.
The first two training sessions are free and there is no pressure to join. Assuming you enjoy all of this, we can arrange for a license and buy you a dobok (the suit we train in) and you can become a part of the club.
